I'm baaack!! Everyone tell London how wonderful she is and what you thought of the new set - er, if she still had one frown
I am happy with it I tell ya what.

Life is good here in my little world as of now. Since more people will be reading my journal (hopefully biggrin ) than usual this is my theory of life lately and the problems with western society as I see them :

(Warning if you just want to think of me as a pretty face then don't read the following, hehe)

Life was meant to be enjoyed. Last spring I finally followed a long time urge to find a pagan community, as practicing on my own doesn't work as well and frankly I didn't know what I was doing really. Long story short I got really into earth magic as a way of life.

I have always though that this society is perpetually fighting the symptoms of its problems and not actually fighting the cause of those symptoms. I also think that the myriad of America's ( I say this because I won't lie - I don't know jack about the rest of the world and that is a fucking shame, I blame myself and my western education for that) problems have perhaps 3 or 4 intertwined sources, or less.

One of these sources I think, and this may change, is that the western tradition follows a linear as opposed to cyclical mode of thinking. Our calendars and timelines show a forward progression of time instead of seeing a year as a cycle of the earth, etc. This implies that we don't really have a since of "end" of closure, things just keep going straight on.

Another similar source I see branches off of the first. In what I follow, I use that term loosely, the Goddess has three aspects: the maiden the mother and the crone. The maiden and the mother have survived, albeit augmented to fit male rule (men don't hate me, I don't hate men and my male rule I am not pointing the finger at you personally) whereas the crone - along with respect for old age - has disappeared from western mythology and popular culture. The crone symbolizes, to me, the end of the cycle, death, higher knowledge, discomfort, wisdom, tough decisions, the crossroads etc. I think that the participants in a society are highly influenced by its mythology and pop culture. The loss of the crone in western though (this includes academia for which I have only the highest contempt . . . at times) has made us unprepared to deal with the end of our life cycles big and small - this leads to a building up of unclosed cycles, since our cycles, our baggage emotional and otherwise, have not been dealt with we remain incomplete and vulnerable people ready and able to find their self worth through the domination or approval of others and not within themselves.

Whew! That was a lot and I rushed through it but please argue with me, ignore me, or agree with me, if I pissed you off feel free to rant back, whatever suits you. Ask me questions if I rushed over this, and if you want more I have more theories about why the US is fucked up kiss

Life was meant to be enjoyed

1) You are so fun and beautiful in your set, I love it.

2) Did you find a group to practice with/how is it going? I've never been able to practice much with others (or on my own) and I really want/need to get back into it.

Blessed Be.

I am notorious in my friends list for my stories. They normally involve me getting into the most bizzare shit.

I agree with you about the crone. Really we as a society are scared to let anything go. Our beauty, past mistakes, age and anything else that must end. People just hold on too tightly to what was and don't let go.
