"heaven"

i was supposed to walk with my mom in the race for the cure saturday morning. my mom is a 2x cancer survivor...first time in her face under her left eye, & just this year in her right breast.

we had talked about it for like 6 months & the day finally came...& went.

last weekend, an elderly couple that lived across the street from my grandmother & grandfather for nearly 50 yrs, was g-dparents to my mom & aunt, & who had 10 kids that were g-dchildren to my grandparents, died in a house fire. for whatever reason, the 911 call center took way too long to pickup the call from neighbors. did they die because of a fault in the 911 system, or would they have died anyway? everyones pointing fingers, but well never know the answer...even after any official inqueries are concluded.

they got together some 60 yrs ago...dayum! they raised their kids together, went to church together, sat on the front porch waving at me together & they passed into eternal life together. im glad theyre not apart in this new, everlasting life they have in store for them.

well, my mom, grandmother, aunt & uncle, & a cousin went to the funeral. it was like a mini family reunion/block party at the church...the same church they were elders in along with my grandparents, the same church i was baptized in, as well as my cousins, & my parents were married in...needless to say i have mad history in this church.

make sure you tell your loved ones that you love & appreciate them every chance you get...you never know, it may be your last.
