OK, it's 3 in the morning and I just got home from a kickass concert - Big John Bates and the Voodoo Dollz. This is the band that got banned from a bar in Vegas. The English Teeth (a local band) opened. Bombshell Betty, one of the Voodoo Dollz, actually whipped me. The other Doll, Li'l Baby Chaos, pulled up my shirt to check out my chest. When I talked to Betty after the show, she took my shirt. It was something like -30 C out at the time, so I bought a band shirt to replace it.
I talked to their bass player sCare-oline (at whom I had thrown an ice cube earlier, for which I got totally busted), and she was fuckin' cool. She's a belly dancer, and her little routine was at least as good as the Girlz' whole flaming pasties routine (any of them would qualify as an SG, btw.) As it happens, she's from Lethbridge or someplace like that.
Anyway, I gave Betty my contact info and talked to sCare-oline a bit more, and it looks like I'm gonna get an interview with them for CJSW sometime. If you like psychobilly (fuckin pumped-up rockabilly), keep checking here - I'll keep ya posted.
God, my hands are bruised today - from clapping and slapping the stage, I guess.

And Lotus, like I said, I was floor-kissing drunk at the time. I could barely remember my <i>name</i>, let alone remember to plug this fine site. sCare-oline's kinda local, but she's not around much anymore. The rest are from Van. I'm definitely working on assembling a local SG crew - just gimme time.
