Just saw the Aviator. Howard Hughes is my hero. A man nearly as insane as I am (excuse me, eccentric), but he still manages to have movie stars lust after him, revolutionizes the air industry, and lives his dream. Now if only I'd strike it rich with a few oil wells to get me started, I would cheerfully follow in his footsteps... being careful to wipe them first, of course, so I don't catch any germs...

Agreed. It's hard to imagine someone doing now what Hughes did then, achieving all that (I have the sense that our modern world is at once too complex and too mediocre for someone like Hughes.) He's a fascinating character.
