So I've come to an agreement with my buddy that I'm going to move into his spare room.
$450 a month in Northern Liberties. Internet, phone, cable included. My own room, bathroom. A 12 minute ride to work as opposed to an hour plus.
He's gone 120 nights a year and fucks off back to Canada in the summer.
Only catch is I haven't told mom. Yea, almost 30 and still living at home. Dad dying threw off some plans. It's been three years since he passed and I just feel so bad leaving.
She loves the area down there and thinks it's the kind of place that would be good for me. Repeatedly she's told me at the same time that she wishes I could stay forever, that she respects the fact I have to leave eventually.
Plan is to move in November 1.
I have no idea how to tell her.

Your mom will be okay... you won't be all that far away, really. Just be sure to call her to say "hi" and pop over for lunch
