Gooooooood day SG land!!
As you may or may not know, we try to veer away from making too many blog posts when a set goes live. Why? because we value the community and we don't want to make ~*~ everything ~*~ about our work. BUT We just needed to talk about this set with @foxsin, "A World Without Light".
Morrigan and myself (Scar) have a really long history of knowing each other. We went to the same college (and didn't even know it), attended the same program (and never saw each other until literally our last year) and we even come from the same hometown! Keep in mind....Where we went to school and our hometown are two different states. To top it all off, she ended up being my BEST friend's roommate after college. Once we finally DID meet, one of the common interests that brought us together was our love of anime.
Death Note, of all the animes, holds a special place in my heart because it was the first anime I really got into! So the opportunity to work on this Misa Misa /Death Note set was really wonderful. It brought all the things I love, together. Photography, Suicide Girls, Morrigan, anime - DEATH NOTE! It was a perfect storm. On top of it all, we made a friend!
Foxsin is so cool and fun to be around. She came prepared with props and a million ideas. Shooting together felt like making content with an old friend. The nerdiness didn't end at just shooting, afterwards, we all grabbed lunch and continued our conversation /debate on the funniest Death Note scene and shared pictures our furry friends.
FUN FACT: We all could only find green apples. YES. Green apples!! How can we have a Death Note set with a GREEN apple!?!? So, we had to work some photoshop magic on our apple. Be kind when you look at it with a constructive lens! lol! Also - you'll notice the lighting / shading and coloring of this set is different then our normal cool tones. We wanted to stay true to the anime as much as possible, to lean into the kinda dark but fun energy Death Note brings to it's audience.
As usual, thank you so much to all our friends and community here on Suicide Girls. We're thankful every day for the lifelong friendships with people like @foxsin, we'd have never made without the site. <333
