you know how when you lock eyes with someone for the first time,
not knowing anything about each other, and you feel this sense
of acknowledgment or whatever cause you basically know
from that look that you caught that person's attention, and you them.
and you know that right there, you both found each other
attractive......and maybe it might make you cross the bar,
or get off the bench, or go back to a store again or whatever. but
you get a good feeling. it makes you smile, it might make
your night-but it doesn't have to result in anything either,
sometimes just that "knowing" is enough.
so it just hits me the other day:
when i was in LA last year, i stated that i wanted to meet
a certain beautiful Hollywood starlet and give her a cd of my music,
just because. so within hours of getting of the plane i
was at a club in Hollywood and found myself at the
bar next to her. of course, i didn't have my cd with me
and i was so jet-lagged and sleep deprived i couldn't
get my energy level up to get my party on.
i bobbled that partBIG time-i let that kind of shit happen
all the time (no follow-through) but later at the end of the night
i was sitting in the window of the club, facing the
street. i turned to look outside and saw her standing
there, waiting for a friend.
and we locked eyes for a while.
and it hits me today that a few people have said to me
that i slightly resemble a famous actor that she was
linked with. and facially, maybe the one she's with now.
so i guess it's safe to say we know what kind of
men she's attracted to. and i think i fit that part.
at least for that moment. and it makes me smile now
just thinking about it.
