Don't Panic
It's odd coming home to a truly empty apartment. Before Calvin I had a cat, Muffy. She was named after a mouse on Nickelodeon (I was 5). A few years ago I had a cat named Shithead, so called because the first time I saw her as she crawled out of the spot she was born, one of her siblings had left a fresh pile on her head. Unfortunately she didn't do well with Calvin and had to go. Now I want a new kitten.
Good before bad. I dropped by Panda's work and chatted with her briefly. She has been super busy lately so it was good to see her for a moment.
Also, my ex called. I had talked to her briefly about trying to meet face to face (I hate lacking visual communication but love parentheses) so I could forgive her / apologize and get some closure on the whole mess, and she says can't because of something about the way she went about the whole thing (I was the one in the role of "the crazy one" this time). She sounded upset when she called, too. I'm in such a better place and state of mind than almost every time in that 3.5 year relationship and especially(sp?) after (thanks to the many people I've met through this site) and she's the one who can't deal with it. Argh. We're SERIOUSLY different people after really different things (she wants money, and through it security). I just want to put it behind me, but feel the need for some sort of (hopefully) cordial goodbye.
My weekend:
Friday... I can't really remember
Saturday I had to work, and therefore miss sushi
But then I went to ChimericalMe's place and had a few brew's w/ Ragdoll, Khryptic, and one of his friends.
Sunday I went to see Constantine w/ Katfireblade, Holierthancow, Vanuslux, Khryptic, Stuzzy, and ChimericalMe. The original timing got screwed up so we burned the time until the next show getting beer and food and enjoying good conversation. The movie was quite good, but could have been a lot better.
Today I had to work, and now I'm watching the holey (yes holey) trilogy, the matrix on hbo and surfing about.
