<<Jim George alleges that Jack Marion acted recklessly when Marion slid into George at an intramural soccer game. George has an expert witness who tries to establish that Marion acted recklessly, but recent New Jersey caselaw does not accept the testimony of expert witnesses when the issue of liability arises from an injury at an informal sporting event. As is shown below, testimony of an expert witness is only allowable in this type of case when the scope of understanding regarding the complexities of the event lay outside that of a lay jury. Crawn v. Campo, 643 A.2d 125 (1994). Because this is a case of negligence and not reclessness, summary judgement is warranted.>>
so this is the kinda stuff i'm going to be writing in my carreer. i finish my little paralegal program on aug 5 and hopefully i'll have a job in nyc on aug 6. it's not really what i want to do but my rationale is that being a paralegal will pay the bills while i figure out what i really want to do
which will somehow involve the baking of pies, getting rich people covered in pie, and the cause of socialism.
