So I moved for the second time in the last few weeks. Although I am only going to be here in Madison, WI for about ten weeks , I know that it is going to prove to be a fun-filled, adventure layden journey across the mystical divide.

I trusted only the internet in locating a place to rent for the summer. Having lived alone for the last year I was banking on getting a place to myself, but being a poor student makes roomates just too damn economical. I think I may have just unknowingly signed up for an episode of the Real World. Four strangers with as far as I can tell nothing in common.

I spent last night one of my roomates and her friend, both having grown up in Madison. They are both 19 and after a night of conversation I felt pretty old and it revealed that these two youngins' were a wee bit homophobic, racist, and lacking any life experience. Sort of reliving the high school days. Weird sensation as I approach my 25th b-day at the end of the summer to feel like an adult.

Another roomate is in Prague for a few weeks. The little brother of a former tenant. Only have a note introducing himself and his love of food, mainly steak and BBQ. Being a vegan, I anxiously await sharing the kitchen.

The third roomate is my favorite so far. A 27 year old brunette that has a penchant for piercings and pain. After a brief conversation she showed me her latest piercings, a unusual arrangement of 16 metal rings embedded in her back. Look painful and relatively new, but definitely beautiful.

Who knows what the weeks have in store. I'll just have to wait and see....
