Currently I'm watching The Goonies and dreading going to work and writing a paper.

There's nothing to eat in my house. I think I'm gonna go have some processed cheese.

I'm living in a life that's not my own.

What are your thoughts on psycho therapy? Works? Doesn't? Ever been to a shrink? What was your experience?

here's my opinion for all it's worth:



i'm against shrinks.

work that someone does for you usually doesn't stick.
it's the easy way out, and can create a dependency which isn't healthy in my mind.

i've been tackling my problems on my own. through books, daily practice (meditation, martial arts,yoga, thinking- anything that helps me get my focus.) and talking to wiser people then me. (hard to imagine they exist i know, but i've managed to locate a couple... biggrin )


through all those, i'm trying to develop a nice arsenal of 'strategies' for dealing with various issues.
that way- whatever comes up i have the tools to deal with.
'cause it never ends you know- there are ALWAYS new challanges to face- but it becomes that- a challange rather then a problem. then it doesn't seem like hugh waves threatning to drown you- more like ripples, ya know?

it can help if you tell them exactly what your problems are, no holding back and listen to what they have to say. they will make suggestions that if you look at them in the right way you could have come up with yourself if you hadn't been focused on other things
