~ Watched two movies today:
The Incredibles.....god....Brad Bird is just genius. First he brings me The Iron Giant, now this! One can only pray for a sequal....and I say that so very rarely.
Also Alfie. I'm not sure if it was good or not. Probably couldn't even tell you the plot. I spent most of the hundred and some-odd minutes drooling over Jude Law in pin stripes.
~ I just spent the last 3 minutes and 56 seconds musing over how "Funkytown" by Lipps Inc. has to be the greatest dance song ever recorded. Though, I'm sure I'll say that about another song a few weeks from now. But god...perfect pop song.
~ I got a promotion at my shitty job. Worst.idea.ever. No use climbing a ladder you don't even want to be standing on. Let alone taking on much more resposibility than the shit raise they gave me is worth.
~ Bright Eyes has to be the most overated crap mass on this land we call earth. I just finished listening to his album "Lifted Or the Story is something pretentious and what-not". I do give him credit though, for at least admitting he's trite. Which is more than I can say for a lot of other musicians that take themselves way too seriously. Also, some of the musical compositions weren't half bad. But gah...his voice and songwriting give me douche chills just thinking about it.
~ I have, though, fallen in love with The Mars Volta. They're playing Roseland in May...tickets go on sale Tuesday.....I would totally go if any of my friends had decent taste in music. But none of them would be interested. Maybe I'll just go alone. Then I can just enjoy the music. Is it lame to go to a concert by yourself?
