Ok, my election 2 cents:
I hate to sound so synical about the American public, but here's why Bush won (mind you, I was SO not surprised):
1. Kerry was way too well spoken and intelligent. Americans in the red states can't relate to that shit.
2. Bush and his administration have done a fantastic job scaring the shit out of people. He's like an abusive boyfriend. He knocks you down and tells you that you can't survive without him. The red states are Bushs' bitches. I can't even begin to comprehend why people have this idea that they're safer with Bush. WE WERE ATTACKED ON HIS WATCH PEOPLE!! THE BIGGEST TERRORIST ATTACK IN HISTORY AND WHO WAS IN OFFICE?? Sure, you can't blame 9/11 on Bush. Why can't you blame it on Bush?? Because you can't blame it on ANYONE! TERRORISTS ARE GOING TO ATTACK NO MATTER WHO IS IN OFFICE! He has done NOTHING to prove he could keep us safer. And might I ad WE were attacked. W-E. N-Y-C. WE didn't vote for HIM. What does that say to you???? Well....besides NY's long running history of voting for democrats.
3. Another thing the Bush administration has done a good job doing; convincing the red states that this draft dodging, cheerleading, former coke head, rich white boy that was born in Connecticut is just like them. HA!
4. The Kerry campaign was obviously a huge failure. He just fucked up big time. Mind you, I said it before he lost as well. He just played right into the Bush campaigns hands. His campaign was a huge disappointment.
The only consolation, it'll all be over in four years. Hopefully the damage is not completely irreversable. Or even, maybe Bush can do a better job this time around. I'm a little pessimistic about that.
