Either I have an amazing ability for retaining information, I was really lucky or I go to school with retards. It's probably a combination of all three. The average score for my social psych midterm was 75 and I got a 91. I didn't even open the damn book, I went over my notes a bit the night before and that was about it. Also, I've only attended about three classes (my professor puts all the notes on a website). While I was taking the test I found it difficult, but I attributed it to the fact that I didn't spend much time studying. When I looked at the listed grades and I saw a 91 next to my social sec number I thought I was dreaming. Then when I looked at the other grades and when I went back to class and everyone was complaining about how hard the test was even though they studied their asses off I thought.....are these people retarded?? I go to a City University of New York liberal arts college, so....maybe not retarded, but not people that are probably too ambitious academically. But, I'm not ambitious academically either! That's why I'm there! So....maybe I just got lucky. It's funny, we were actually discussing this sort of thing in the social psych class a few weeks ago....what do you usually attribute your success to and what does that say about you? I'm insecure about my academic ability and intellect, I always have been. So....it was luck.
