about people talking about themselves. it's a little difficult sometimes, i so know what you're talking about. i think the key is to surround yourself with people who aren't too annoying or condescending. there's this quote from zarathustra (nietzsche) that kind of changed my view on selfishness, whether it be in conversation or whatever. "don't be so humble - you're not so great" ...i think what he means to say is that it's all the more worse when others are straining to work against their natural inclination to prove their own selflessness, especially if they come across as holier than thou.
how were the cobain journals? that bad? or just the idea?

what the hell is a blockbuster movie freedom pass? i can think of a few countries in africa that need freedom but few movies needing freedom. ??
actually i really can't make fun of blockbuster...about three times this year i've gone to our avante garde movie rental place, cine file, and since the movie experts organized the movies by DIRECTOR (ok, i'm a scientist...i haven't memorized every movie's production assistant. i think i'm cool for renting true romance, so shoot me) we couldn't find a damn thing without the clerks craning their necks to stare at the idiots spending two hours looking for the movie...after that we drove down the street to blockbuster and got what we wanted in FIVE MINUTES. not to mention the whole problem with trying to get vhs movies in those avant garde places. only dvds! psh. blockbuster saved the day!
do people call you by your first name at the counter? and if so, do you get pissed off when they do? when i see name tags, i'm very tempted to use them, but then again the ocd in me reminds me i might be crossing some kind of personal boundary i perhaps shouldn't...
