Because sometimes the ol' self esteem hasn't quite recovered. I dunno if I prefer being bummed out that an ex has moved on, or not caring in the slightest about their love life post-me. I guess the ideal is getting to a point where you can be happy about it, when there's no ill-will between you and your ex, when you genuinely care about each other but it just didn't work out.

Easier said than done, but definitely possible.
