A Mosque at Ground Zero!!
If you live in the US, you certainly have heard the fuss about plans to build a Mosque in the neighborhood surrounding ground zero (World Trade Center building site). I guess that nobody should be surprised that there would be political turmoil over this. The whole 'Muslim question' is one that tends to get people in this country pretty excited.
Here is the thing.....
One of the most treasured rights in this country is the freedom to worship how you wish. There is a raw beauty to that right. If you and some friends want to gather around and pray to a rock...have at it!! If you want to strip naked and dance for rain....be my guest!! If you want to mix up some crazy potion and attempt to cast spells on your Ex in the hopes that their hair falls out.....Take your best shot!!
The point is....freedom of religion is freedom of religion. Some may say that the Muslim faith breeds terrorists but aren't we wise enough to see that religion is just a convenient excuse to use by psychopaths to defend their actions. This isn't new with Muslims.....EVERY religion has had their share of wackos that read whatever 'holy book' that guides their religion and concludes with MUCH different thoughts than the rest of us.
The truth of the matter is, there are a number of Mosques in that general area and since they have more worshipers than space, they wish to build a new one. If you make the argument that they shouldn't build this Mosque, why not argue that they should rip down the other ones. And why only in NYC?? Why not the state?...or the country??

I wish there was a 'like' button right here... cause I'd click it =] It's so lame that people take so much time to argue about things like that when there are more pressing issues. This political stunt they are pulling is to distract people from the important things that are going on in this country... and it's fucking working!
