Okay, let me assure you of one thing...tons of Americans LOVE a British accent. We go completely stupid when we are around them. I can't tell you why. But I promise you, your accent makes you more golden among us down here in the states than you realize. We are also often suckers for Irish and Scottish accents as well. I don't know, maybe it is some kind of UK thing.  I understand that you don't think much of your own accent. I don't like my own; it is southern since I was raised in Texas. But, trust me. A lot of Americans melt when they hear any form of British accent. Y'all could totally use that as a sexual weapon and we would be pretty much defenseless. ;-)
