Thank you all for the comiserations I've been kept busy so haven't moped about yet.

So along-side escorting the object of my new found free time is to make a serious attempt at being a professional musician. If I don't try now, I never will. The PhD has been streamlined for another degree but in something like music composition/ arrangement. I'm still working on that.
