Ugh! I just finished grilling 100 bratwurst for one of our regular "lunch on the lawn" events here at the Vet School. My eyes are soooooooo burny right now from all the smoke and grease. 
But the brats were yummy! 
This was one of the smaller events (100 brats, 300 burgers, 3 dozen veggie-burgers). Some of them are twice that size. One of the great things about where I work.
I am SOOOO buried with pictures now.
I think I'm going to take a day off work this week just to try to get caught up. I also have a bunch of songs I have to re-arrange for the brass group I play in (already arranged them once, but our instrumentation has changed), and I have some documents to edit for a computer language standards organization I'm heading. Sheesh. Too many iorns in the fire!! Oh well, at least I don't have any more shoots lined up for the next few weeks, so I shouldn't get behinder... 
Working in a vet school gives great opportunities for unique pictures. Here's a miniature horse that just finished ophthalmic (eye) surgery.
and this place definitely has some skeletons in the closet...

That's an amazing story about the screech owl. I probably wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it either. That's amazing that it was smart enough to stay away from moving parts in that engine. it makes me wonder if he was standing there going "Hmm, that's a might bit warm on my feet!" and start dancing around during the drive. Hehe. Sorry, I have a bad habit of putting words into animals mouths but I don't know many animal people that don't
Thank you. I am happy with our conclusion. He gave me everything and I'm still on the checking and savings account for emergencies. We're already planning for me to come back in a few weeks to help him move out of this place.
