Ok, things are looking a little better -- not only for me but across the board.
I gave myself an Easter present. I took a couple hours and just drove around the county taking pictures., then spend the evening/night editing a few of them up. I posted them in my Things folder if you want to look. This one was just fun, though (not particularly good).
I'm going to be VERRRY busy for the next month and a half. Two big projects at work, plus a photography project for work, plus getting ready for a big art show... Hopefully I'll get motivated to actually get these done by when they should be.
I'm afraid my attitude at/about work has been pretty piss-poor lately.
Last week Amanda and I took the whole week off and cleaned. That's it, just cleaned. We took care of the kitchen (Amanda), office (me) and family room (both of us), and hauled about a ton of trash (literally!!!) out. God, we are such pack-rats!
We've been in this place for almost 15 years now, and it's never had a good "clean like you're going to move" event until now. Even with all we did, there's still stuff that should get pitched in those rooms, and the rest of the house is a mess. We could probably both spend an entire week just working on our bedroom.
So this art show coming up.... I'm going to have to make some decisions here. A LOT of the artistic work I do are nudes -- nothing porno, just figure studies, mostly.
Last year I had a couple PG rated ones shown (i.e., the model was nude, but none of the "naughty bits" showed)., and even so I was probably the raciest artist there (out of about 100). Damn these midwestern morals!
Now admittedly, this is a very family-friendly event -- lots of kids -- but really.... Nobody said anything about it last year, but I really was conspicuously "racy". This year I'd like to display some of the stuff in my bodyscapes folder and similar items. I don't want to drive away business, nor even offend anyone... but dammit, somebody has to stand up for artistic freeedom, right?
Maybe I should have some translucent paper hung over the racier images to keep from offending kids and prudes. Folks who aren't shocked can lift the paper to see the work. I welcome any thoughts on this.

i need to go through my house like that. the whole thing would probably take me a week because even though it's tiny, i can't clean non-stop and it never fails when i get one area of the house clean it gets trashed as soon as someone comes home from work
i think the paper idea is a good one since it's "family (kid) friendly", but i'm not much of an art expo person so i wouldn't really know
