Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts, prayers, whatever. It means more than you know. Updates:
My mom is having surgery today to remove the clot -- it'll be done under a local, so it's not such a big deal. Wouldn't be any concern, except when you're 87, everything becomes a concern....
Piebald (our dog) is back home for now, thoroughly doped out on... Read More
What a week of ups and downs -- and it's only Tuesday!
Up: Friday - I shot with one of my very favorite models, and we got some more great stuff.
Down: Friday we discovered a lump on Piebald, our older (13) dog's neck -- big one, too. I called the vet school where I work and made an appointment for her for Monday morning.... Read More
We've been doing limericks on the OMP website, and my twisted analytical little brain was marvelling at how versatile a poetic form the limerick is. All that matters are the number of metrical feet (3,3,2,2,3). It can be ANY foot -- even mixed feet.
So this anal-retentive time waster sat down and came up with this mess:
Definitely need an update! That last one was so....
I really hate those descents into that dark place. It is strangely comforting, though, knowing that suicide is an option. Knowing that makes it easier to ignore it, if you know what I mean. I can just sit back and say "I know if it gets unbearable I have that way out, but I don't need... Read More
Oy! We shot a wedding on Saturday. Fun, but a VERY long day. We started getting set up and shooting preparation shots at 10:30 AM, and finally left the reception at about 9:30 PM. Took about 1800 shots, of which 1200 made the first cut.
I spent most of last night doing this first pass review of the shots and splitting them into areas (Getting... Read More
Life has been keeping me busy lately. I sooooooo behind at work, and really unmotivated to do what I need to there. At home I've been spending a lot longer than I wanted getting display units ready for the summer art show(s). And I've got sooooo many pictures to get done and out the door.... Read More
Precisely. Existentialists get a bad rap (one hilarious example) for their well-publicized despair over meaninglessness, but they all do say that the flip side is the intoxicating, utter freedom. But that doesn't make a funny cookbook.
for a good laugh, throw a few random yiddish words at someone who has no knowledge of yiddish or hebrew, and ask them to talk like a yenta. it's very amusing, sometimes my catholic boyfriend does it. it's like, honey, that's not the right use of the word keppie!
Ok, things are looking a little better -- not only for me but across the board.
I gave myself an Easter present. I took a couple hours and just drove around the county taking pictures., then spend the evening/night editing a few of them up. I posted them in my Things folder if you want to look. This one was just fun, though (not particularly... Read More
that cheer made the other people in my house go lol
i need to go through my house like that. the whole thing would probably take me a week because even though it's tiny, i can't clean non-stop and it never fails when i get one area of the house clean it gets trashed as soon as someone comes home from work
i think the paper idea is a good one since it's "family (kid) friendly", but i'm not much of an art expo person so i wouldn't really know i'd go just to lift all your papers so everyone could see and be shocked
Is it me, or is there an awful lot of melancholy going round lately? Seems like most everyone I know -- here or <gasp> in RW -- is feeling kinda down for one reason or another, present company included.
Good God, it's SPRING! It's a beautiful day outside, it's Friday, more things are going right than wrong. So what's up with this gloominess? What is... Read More

Thanks to the lovely flux for turning me on to this. Please if you know me (more or less), go to my johari window and my nohari window and let me know how you see me. This is really cool
I want to publickly thank many of the folks here for helping me to be more real. Sounds weird coming out of a virtual community,... Read More
hmm, i feel like i've read in more than one journal today that the virtual world helps them in the real world. i wonder, is it akin to praying? am i thinking too much?
i think i dont know you well enough for johari, but i do keep meaning to send it to my face to face friends, hmmm just another thing to do.
dont even get me started on the husband. lately he's been giving girls boyfriend advice. he gives really good advice - but it's completely removed from his own behaviour.
ok, maybe that was a little harsh, but he's a little bit of a cad.
I so don't want to work today. So i guess I'll just update this.
Let's see, of the four recent sets, one is WTBQ, two have been submitted and are awaiting the verdict, and the fourth is still waiting on the girl to pick the shots. Plus there are at least four other sets ready to be scheduled. I'm almost getting to where I'm tired... Read More
