Honey, I do "prom-related activities" all the time! 
We DO still need to hang out. Im getting towards the end of the quarter, the last two weeks then finals. After that I have a complete week to do absolutely anything I want. Also, next quarter, I will only have class tuesdays and thursdays.
Since I have my head in the books now, its probably best to hang out when Im done with finals. I tend to crawl into a cave so i can do my best during finals.
Also, kareoke is not really my thing...Im not very good at making an ass out of myself on stage. That only happens during everyday events. haha.
We'll figure something out. I have to meet your roommate as well!

thanks to Esme, i've had my first experience of the phenomenon of speed dating...unfortunately there weren't as many scootergirls participating as there could have been, but it was fun nevertheless. i walked away with two matches--but better yet, i made a few new friends. not a bad way to spend a friday night.

well i'm back finally. spent some time with the parents (my dad's going through chemotherapy)...tried to avoid as much drama as possible...all in all a good visit. now it's back to the daily grind--actually i'm enjoying being at the high school for the most part. i need to enjoy this now before i'm actually responsible for the twerps.

Ultimately, I want to be a college-level writing teacher, but in the meantime, I'm taking the semester school to establish residency and I want to see if I can get a gig subbing at the SF public schools. Sometimes I think being a high school English teacher could be fun, too, but I don't think I'll have the energy to do the however many more years of school it would take to get my teaching credentials.

guys night out! my good friend and intermittent musical collaborator has moved to the bay area for the next few months, so we're going out to celebrate. tomorrow i'm heading home to be with the parents for the holidays. i probably won't be on here for the next few weeks, but i hope everyone has a great holiday season and i'll see you next year.

the party was pretty cool. it didn't really break up until after 4am...luckily they had a pull-out couch for me. met some pretty cool people. apparently my new friend is a veritable social hub, which is good for me since i don't know that many people in the area. i'm looking forward to start playing music with the guy--he's got good vibes.

I think we're meeting at Civic around 10...so, what, on a Sunday? Eleven? Actually, now that I think of it, since the trains run so infrequently, maybe it would make sense for us city kids to actually pick a specific train to be on. Anyway...we won't be there at 9. That's all I can say for certain.
