it's one thing to say you're comfortable with who you are. it's quite another to actually examine yourself, and what others say about you. if you truly know yourself, you shouldn't be surprised by another's perception of you. and if you like who you are, what others say won't even matter, because you know the truth.
all that, of course, is the goal. it's when one's perception (perhaps your own) of an aspect of your self irks you or doesn't quite jive--making sense of that is the path.
