Well, I haven't posted the last few months because I've been going through a lot of shit and haven't felt like writing. Hurt by friends, which in turn has brought up issues from my childhood that were never dealt with. Counseling is a strange thing--for me it's like a good conversation with a loving but unbiased friend. Maybe it helps that my she is also a doula, but I'd say she's not your typical counselor and I love that.
It seems to be helping. I've most certainly become more self-aware in the past year, and while that sometimes brings it's own neuroses, now I can at least identify when I'm not happy and not avoid my feelings. Feelings are something I have come to appreciate quite a bit.
On a different note, I thought I didn't like Woody Allen after suffering through the first 15 minutes of Annie Hall. I just watched Manhattan and loved it. The difference? I can handle him being neurotic or an asshole, but not both at the same time.

Yeah we're hoping. The treatment seems effective for this one, based on what I've read (of course I went and researched all I could.) Just wish they would hurry up with the damn surgery date.
