ok, so i've been tagged by good ol' heresy200. apparently i have to come up with 20 interesting facts about myself. harder than it sounds. but let's face it--who doesn't like talking about themselves?
1. i was born with a moderate case of cerebral palsy--not too severe or mild. it mainly affects my balance and muscle coordination. i can walk with a walker, but most of the time i use a power wheelchair.
2. i am an only child.
3. i grew up in the country. ten miles from town. i thought i was in a big city when i moved to Berkeley for college.
4. i was a straight A student in high school. i barely graduated from college with a 3.0. the C- in organic chemistry really hurt. i blame it all on icmn.
5. i played keyboard in middle school and trombone in high school. concert band and jazz band. (man i miss playing in a band.)
6. i've written and recorded about 8 original songs, though i'm not particularly proud of them.
7. i didn't go to a real concert until i was 23: the mighty mighty bosstones. by the end of this month, i'll have been to 10 shows in the last three months.
8. i have never had a cavity, and i have all my wisdom teeth and my tonsils.
9. i used to have a phobia of needles. i think it was from a surgery i had when i was 4, and the nurse couldn't find my vein for the IV.
10. i'm still somewhat terrified of spiders. and i've always been fascinated by them. actually i'm only scared of big spiders. for example, i think jumping spiders are extremely cool and cute creatures (they have hilarious courtship dances).
11. my parents are still married, though there have been some serious strains.
12. i've only been to three states: california, oregon, and washington.
13. i've only been out of the country once, to Lisbon, Portugal for the World Expo '98. actually, my school's project was featured in it.
14. i've never had enough alcohol to constitute a full drink. i've never tried recreational drugs either. i've watched people drink and smoke enough to erase (virtually) all curiosity.
15. i was hardcore christian for about 2 years, while i was at berkeley no less. i think it was an important experience for me. luckily, it didn't work out.
16. i've never been to a strip club, but that's about to change.
17. any sort of confrontation bothers me, and i avoid it as much as i can.
18. i hate being put on the spot. i prefer some time to think about something before giving an opinion.
19. i would describe myself as very easy-going, but i'm i'm also rather particular about some things.
20. my greatest fear is not finding love.
well, there it is. hopefully you all know me a bit better now and still find me interesting. instead of tagging more people (i dislike chain emails and the like), i invite anyone reading this to do their own list, in the interest of openness and becoming better friends.

im not sure just yet what the specifc experiment is but, i do know the study is on fireants. fun!
