i'm finally taking steps to track down old friends. some i haven't talked to in almost 6 years. i got to talk to someone's mom, which was nice. it's really cool to keep in touch with people. on the other hand, it's nice to talk to someone after a long hiatus. probably better to keep up the regular contact though.

every year i fall in love all over again. with Spring.

today was beautiful: a comfortable 75 degrees, not a cloud in the sky. this kind of weather makes me really happy. it has it's own smell. it smells of renewal, and second chances, and new possibilities. it makes me want to walk down the street for no reason and enjoy the scenery. and to...

Yep, I've still got plans for New York. Lots of different plans, but something's got to work out, right? Yeah, I hate that about the whole global community thing. It's not fair that you can't just walk out your door and hang out with any of your friends you would like.
venice:
Well, it's most likely that I'm running from myself... so it's probably not going to work out. But it might also just be running from a rut I've gotten into, or something. I don't know, really. Maybe everything.

SPIDER UPDATE:

Mostly it's a matter of just riding these things out and knowing they'll go away eventually.

That's awesome! The bay area is one of the places I thought about moving before I actually visited New York and fell in love.
And the sets, I have two sets waiting to go up that I shot with Missy in December, and I can see their preview pictures on my page even though no one else can. And I haven't seen the sets yet, and I really want to know how they came out, so the preview pictures just make that anticipation worse.

i don't know about you guys, but i didn't really enjoy the super bowl this year (and not just because i happened to be rooting for philidelphia). even the commercials sucked--only the big corps can afford it, and they're not even trying to get our attention. they know we're alreay theirs. the only good thing about the whole show was apul mccartney. he still rocks....

I'm doing fine, actually. At the moment I'm smiling. That's a good sign, right? I often get too thoughtful in my journals and go on these weird depressive rants, and I always worry that people will get the wrong idea about me. I am a depressive, I won't deny that, but I'm also a really silly and fun person sometimes. It's just harder for that to come through.
I have a secret love of romantic comedies, but Love Actually was just too much sap for me. I couldn't take it.

God, I hope I'm not normal... I'm pretty sure I'm not, but you've got to watch out for these things. Anyway, that's exactly what I think. And I realized today that I've been thinking about the same thing for years, and I even decided I would do it after I graduated even thought it's completely unrelated. So why the hell am I not doing it now?

i've been reading "the catcher in the rye." it's my first time. i keep having to remind my self what an outrageous book this would have been when it was released.

holden caulfield is an amazingly realistic character. this book kinda has the same appeal as "the wonder years" and "freaks and geeks," but for an even older generation.the awkwardness of growing up and looking...

I know what to do in theory, but in practice, meeting people is one of the hardest things for me to do.
venice:
That's what I've found too. I've met all sorts of great people here, but most of the ones I'd like to know better aren't anywhere near me. It's frustrating.
