Tuesday seems to be the day when the world settles down enough for me to catch my breath and jot out a few notes. . . I'll have to check into why that is precisely.

Seeing a little lull in the work volume at the primary job but have plenty of papers to grade for the University. I have two classes running right now which equates to roughly 30 papers a week to get through. It's apparent that some people never really learned to write in elementary, secondary, or undergraduate. . . It's sad really because it highlights an ongoing failure of the school system to teach rudimentary basics to students. We live in an electronic world and many first impressions are formed these days based on one's ability to write (unless you're an SG and then you have a whole different approach to first impressions!).

What's really sad that many of the University instructors have noticed that one region of the country definitely lags behind one it comes to writing skills. This is unfortunate as it will, I'm afraid, lead to the continued stereotyping already prevalent.

Everyone deserves a solid educational foundation yet we seem to struggle to provide it.
