my latest pet peeve: people who push the button repeatedly for an elevator or crosswalk. as if the device will detect the urgency by the multiple pressings and go faster.
if i'm ever an engineer designing these things, (necessarily in another life) i vow to program them to move slower when the button is pressed more than once.
