So it has been sometime since I have updated my journal so here it goes. I did a lot of promotion for the SG Burlesque shows in TX. They were off the chain. Hailey's in Denton sold out and EMO's in Austin was super packed. I also wrote the following for the next issue of Art Prostitute which will be out in mid February. Enjoy!

On a wet winter night a small band of women eased into to Denton, Texas and ever so gracefully undid the buckle of the bible belt. Hailey's the unseasoned venue hosting the Suicide Girls Burlesque Show was running on a temporary liquor license and shares a parking lot with a Methodist church. This to no surprise brought out the local law enforcement. They were there to see that no acts of a lewd nature were being performed. Violet, a staple of the SG community and one of the performers stepped in to brief the sheriff about some of the things that may go on in the show. For instance, would it be considered lewd if they kiss each other, fondle each others breasts or spank one other? As her spanking demonstration commenced Violet's backstroke sent an onlooker's cocktail into a woman's lap. A look of befuddlement replaced the normally stoic one that the Sheriff wore, as he seemed lost in the wake of the moment...no doubt bemused by Violet's charm, a variety that could peel the paint of walls. Despite the police's advancements toward the show's plug, they elected to merely stand by the outlet, which oddly was one of the premier vantage points. Shade Seven opened for the SG's touring band Bloom whose performance was cut short by a bottle hurling cowboy. This act prompted the show's promoter Robin Phillips to announce if any shit like that went down while the girls were on, they would walk and there would be no refunds. A split second of contemplative silence washed over the capacity crowd of around 375. Not moments later the stage was bathed in the infamous red light that accompanies scandal on a regular basis. A tunnel of hot white light lit up the stage as Snow, Tegan and the show's frontwoman Siren strutted out to the tune of "Hey Big Spender." From that point the ante was upped act after act in true No Limit Texas Hold'em fashion. The energetic masses were treated to an erotic rendition of the ear dismemberment scene from Resevoir Dogs. This however ended up with the hostage cop, portrayed by the fierce eyed Brandy and Tegan as Mr. Blonde, topless and liplocked. A cheerleader and senior bully duet with Violet and Siren was when the aforementioned spanking came into play. This was a bit less sultry and a little more campy which in the end gave the show a refreshing well roundedness. The final is the stuff that filled the daydreams of my adolescence. The entire cast Snow, Tegan, Brandy, Siren, Violet and the nights newcomer Shera, who for that evening was the prop girl, made sundaes out of each other. No whip cream or chocolate syrup was spared as they drizzled and rubbed it all over themselves just about head to toe. At the perfomance's end they were whisked offstage only to reemerge as clean as before the show started. The SG faithful stayed after dessert to pay their compliments and meet the women whom they have been so enamored with through online journals and message boards the burlesque ladies post to on suicidegirls.com.

I found them all to be pleasant and humble about the overwhelming success of the show to date. There will most assuredly be more tours planned so bookmark suicidegirls.com and keep an eye on these ladies, because they just might slip into your town real soon.
