You definitely have a right to your opinion. My opinion is that people have the opportunity to support themselves and their families. I've been through hard times financially, and I did what was necessary to pull through. I think handouts just keep people down and don't allow them to take control and improve their own lives. That doesn't mean that I'm against all social programs - just those that don't encourage people to help themselves.
