it was a night of trios...
Matt Pike, perpetually shirtless and one of the best guitarists one could hope to see, seemed to be following us from bar to bar before the show.
Don Caballero was incredible. even though the drummer was the most tortured-looking dude in a striped yellow polo shirt i'd ever seen.
and Indian had our ears pummeled into submission in short order.
got there early and had great balcony vantage. haven't done that before, it worked out well. especially looking down at how packed the floor was at points. a fight broke out two songs in to Don Cab's set. and when HoF busted out "Devilution", a pit spread across the back half and all of a sudden the scent of weed was inescapable.
got lucky with train and bus on the way home.
and the moon. the moon watched us all.

just a few notes -
the drummer for Don Cab was wearing the exact same yellow polo shirt when we saw him on Sunday.
whoever was in the sound tent that added that extra reverb to Matt Pike's voice? nice. i enjoyed that.
i now have a bigger crush on Angela Mullenhour than i already did.
standing in the middle of Damen with a bunch of different friends, drinking beer, eating barbecue, and listening to music - especially on a beautiful night like it was - is the sort of thing that i live life for.

Me? I didn't wanna see you anyway... even though you're the only one that i remember from the previous SGC stuff. I'm not sayin' I ever went to any of it, but your name was always on the list. I think I'll see what rev. ojay has to say about this.
