It's white privileged people in the dominant culture getting together and forgetting that the systems of securing their wealth and reifying their identities exploit and screw over those who aren't like them, the Other. Like the way that schools get funding: property taxes. What happens in a poor neighborhood? Fucked. Now THAT is a secret that not a lot of people realize, more worthy than whatever crap is coming down the pike that Oprah is putting her pumps in.
(I love my major, it's what teaches me all of this awesome stuff! Because for a long time, I knew there was something wrong with American culture, but being able to articulate it now makes all the difference)
