it's always a bit hard to post a new journal when the last one still feels accurate and is loaded with so much YouTube goodness to boot... but i guess i should just say that the nerves aren't quite as frayed as they were last week. still frustrated with life and the job search in general, but i managed not to break anything, and i've found glimmers of peace here and there.
i am still looking forward to getting out and seeing people, although the friends whose phone calls i've been ducking for the last few days probably don't know that. funny isn't it? i want to be out and enjoying myself with other people very badly, but i don't answer the phone when a friend calls so i don't have to tell them how i'm doing. i just don't want to go into it. anything i could say right now feels false and rote, because what i really feel can't be verbalized.
let's hope i make it to the weekend.
in honor of becoming immobile and unreachable, here's Joe Walsh with a furry animal on his head.
not to mention a flute solo by a drummer with a cowboy hat on.
and you know it's getting stronger
can't fake 'em out much longer
turn to stone

From what I've been told you already know of me...well sorta.
I think you mentioned that you were at the same bar as I just before the Mastodon show in September 2006 at the Metro...small world indeed. My experience in Chicago was just amazing and all thanks to my wonderful friend Andy who was nothing but charming.
I am apparently as much of a vinyl geek as your good self. That is said in the nicest possible way of course. I can't stop buying vinyl at the moment as I am having such a headrush with so much good music about.
I mentioned the bands touring through "her upstairs ^ ^ ^ ^ " however my wish list is as follows. Baroness, Planes Mistaken For Stars, The Sword just 3 bands who make me smile. Other bands who have touched me in that special way that may/may not be in your sights...Marillion, The Gathering, White Buffalo, Voivod, Boris, Deathless. Some are still together, some have split, all had made music to move me like nothing else.
Have a look through some of my pics and you can have a giggle of some of the bands I have met/played with over the years. This is just a small selction but a giggle is a giggle.
Take care and hope to chat soon.
BTW first ever gig I went to was DIO in 1986 Sacred Heart Tour
First album with my own dosh...Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast. Purchased in 1982 when I was 12
