we tore one down, and erected another there
the match of the century: absence versus thin air
on the way to god don't know
my brain's the burger and my heart's the coal
on this life that we call home
the years go fast and the days go so slow
so did i say that summer was ending? yes, it is.
but there's still a couple gasps left before sweet sweet autumn.
one of them is coming in the form of the three-day Touch & Go bash at the Hideout this weekend. 25 bands from my past and present - man, i really need to get some rest for this shit...
i know plenty of you Chicago folk will be out there - make sure you say so and i'll msg you my cell number so we can find each other.

a few days ago C and I realized we had probably thrown away the envelope with our tickets in it, but after beating ourselves up about it for a bit, i found that TicketWeb were actually very helpful - even though all their legalese says we really had no recourse, they gave us a pair of will call tickets. thank the lord.
i just need to swing by the Hideout tomorrow night to get them since we'll be arriving seperately on Friday. i work until the evening, i just hope i get there in time for GVSB's set...
i'm hoping the big picture for the weekend will look like this: my head will be taken apart by Scratch Acid and Big Black on Saturday, and then put back together by Pinback and Calexico on Sunday.

and while this all happens, i will be trying to feel better. about myself, about putting one foot in front of the other, right? right. still on the treadmill.
ha. ha.

take 'em all for the long ride
and you'll go around town
no one wants to be uptight anymore
you can be ashamed
or be so proud of what you've done
but not no one, not now, not ever or anyone
take 'em all for the sense of happiness
that comes from hurting deep down inside

by all rights i shouldn't be here. i should be in a hospital or dead. but things work out in thier own sick little way sometimes.
i think dummy is going to headline that show in november. it's not the crowd we are normally going to draw but i'll take it. first show at the double door?!! i'll play with any headliner, and that's what we're going to do.
next time.
other than going to school i've walked around the most central parts of town and its a really pretty city. not as slow as the island but not as fast paced as stockholm! just what i wanted.
what are your plans this fall?
