When I say starship troopers you will more than likley come to the over-acted paul verhoven flick from the late ninties. However that film was base on a book by robert a. heinilein penned in the fifties that is a scathing reviem of modern moral values and politics. Although not true at the time of its conception the book touches on some very real issues in the modern world. It is at least worth a read if only to try and fathom how hollywood squeezed that movie from that book.
