I never wanted to be in the army, it was thrust on me by circumstance. I was in grade 12 , on my way to University and then was suddenly homelss and I joined as a last resort. I was mad too, at being gypped of school, mad at people that thought I would get kicked out, fail. I didn't though. I flourished. I found out I was strong. I found out that I could teach . I found out that I was a good shot and had hidden talents. I found out that I can get along with all types of people. When I left after 3 years , my friends had all graduated and were on their way to sucess and I thought that I had wasted those three years.
NOW, I find that they were so instumental in finding my voice, my strength, discipline to forge ahead no matter what.
