I'd guess a lot of people are living pretty animal-exclusive existences nowadays. Sadly, I believe many people are not "seeing wildlife in the wild" anymore, since they see Chemlawn-manicured golf-greens-as-nature everywhere around them.

Problem is when I'm not looking... I'm really NOT LOKKING and totally oblivious. I go through these phases where I get really insecure and just can't be bothered.

Last night, I dreamed that I was really tired, but then someone talked to me about particle physics and I woke up.


Today I failed to talk to a girl in a bookstore who was wearing a denim mini skirt and little gold pumps (I don't actually know what pumps are, but I like saying the word) and who was buying books by Michel Houellebecq, Haruki Murakami, the Eastern European thing about a man and his penguin, and something else cool. Also today, in the parking lot of the grocery store/gym, I had the thought that you were my first proper friend on this site and, look, here we are still.

Heh, I think it deff. means what you said, and I think it also means what all these lovely people above me thought it meant!

Not to mention the smell of turning milk, if you miss a spot.

Well, I did manage to get a buttload of laundry done, including the sheets, but it is too hot to sleep upstairs anyway so the clean sheets will have to wait until it cools off to at least 40C. I'm sure you've heard about Surly's troubles but I tell you, he's a wimp ... it was 48C here on Saturday and I'm sure it was only about 46C for him!

And I have just done the impossible at work, so I suppose I am going to bed now. On the couch. One day I will get to enjoy the clean sheets, like maybe by November.

I have been thinking of you this week. I have been thinking, some day I will have to go to Montreal to interview Maurice Dantec or to attend a conference or some such, and when that day comes I will travel across to the prairie states and I will visit with trixel. That is what I have been thinking.

I've been checking Katie's site waiting to hear about thier anniversery weekend, but it's still not up. I figure things are OK, because I've called a couple times since then, and while I wasn't able to talk to her, the nurses said she was spending time with her parents. Maybe Angie just haven't had time to do a proper update yet. I mean the code on that site isn't the most stable in the world. It crashes all the time when I'm commenting.
