I think the worrying thing (and where I part company from his wording, because it's not quite as simple as "not paying attention") is the way that people do not think about their vehicles and how they use them.
I suppose it's too much to expect people to think...

PS - I was at a conference this week and met with my friend (I think I can just about call him a friend by now), Gary, who lives and works in Thunder Bay. I asked him how far that was from Winnipeg, and he told me eight hours. He is going to maybe organise a conference at his place of work, Lakehead University, next fall, 2007. I told him I would come, f'sure, and could always go visit my friend in Winnipeg, although I guess you'll be in LA by then...

It's good to be concerned about the world - if nobody's concerned then nobody is trying to make the world better and so it gets worse instead . It's hard to draw the line on where to stop worrying tho - mostly I figure if it's not something I'm going to actually take action on then I shouldn't let it stop me even if it is something I'm thinking about.

That's just me of course.

Me too. It looks like I'll be stuck with children living across the street regardless. And they all looked like dog people. At least their yard is fenced, but fences only work if the gates are kept shut. I forgot to ask the landlord if he was allowing pets. It's actually a pretty good yard for dogs.

I just checked and the KPSU broadcast links are down. They may have been having problems when you tried to listen earlier. It's currently 60's psychadelic-ish music.
