so a friend on here has gotten me to start a diet with him. It was written by a programmer, and the algorithm looks promising. The essentials? It's called No-S because on non-S days (weekdays):
-- you do not have a second helping
-- you do not eat sugar
-- you do not snack
You can do whatever you want on the weekends but most...

Thank you Waldo for turning me on to Project Gutenberg. I found my book in there, and while it's not the same as curling up on the couch with an actual paper book, combined with streaming national cbc radio 2 and a cup of decaf green tea, it's quite a good substitute.

and after months of silence, you choose that..... the funny thing is that you are totally right.....
I got some sort of deathcold on the weekend. I'm currently sitting at home, feeling pathetic. I went and saw a doctor today and he told me to stay home for the next few days. The really sad thing is the book I was reading is in my desk at work.

And if you were like the Big Chin, you'd have plenty of spare pj's lined up so you wouldn't worry!!!
Oh please, it WAS funny when Nanny said that but I was fucking pissed!

I just got over a slow-burning headcold ....
- and noticed it's effect on my mood -----> my mood plummeted at the onset until I literally had to drag myself out of bed to face the day
at its passing I was (and still am slightly) tripping the light fantastic
------> my OKCupid test test-results were hardly more rewarding than Playstation
-Manchild------------------>basically they suggest I leave the dating pool for my own and everyone else's emotional health

My weekend was splendid. Surly pampered me (massage, pedicure, japanese nunsploitation horror movie) like I was a queen. He met my family and we spent some time hanging out.
My family loved him (big surprise) and I didn't see him run away screaming, so I think he liked them as well.
One highlight of the weekend: doing a spit take of water all over our...

Thanks for the comment on my set!
Yay for dirty dreams about George Clooney.
Not only did I get intimate with Mr. Clooney (several times), but we got to hang out in this rundown little Turkish (it *seemed* Turkish) cafe, smoke pot, and talk about life. Pure heaven.
In other happy news, Mr. Surly P. Clown arrives in T-minus 5.5 hours. Yahoo!
ps. Does anyone else but me think it bites that...

I got my test results yesterday. As I said to my doctor, it's a relief to know I'm not diseased, just abnormal. Girl bit issues essentially. They're referring me to a gyno for further consultation, but I'm not gonna die! Well I mean, I am gonna die someday, but not sometime soon from this.

I don't believe there are restrictions although I would have to look over the rules to be completely sure. He was glad to turn it over anyway and denied ownership so it wasn't an issue luckily.
As for my hair...at Mane Attractions on McLeod, Ernest is my stylist, also a friend of mine which is handy for those days I am stuck, I just head to his house.

we had a Feng Shui practitioner come and do our office. They rearranged a lot of desks and other furniture added a water feature and some plants and cleared a lot of blockages, mainly from our wallets though hehe, I think an interior decorator would have been cheaper if not as much fun.
I was supposed to get my test results today, but my doctor is still in the us. They rebooked the appointment for me for tomorrow. meh.
There is something living in my ceiling. I'm on the top floor of an old brownstone from the '20s, and I can hear something scampering around up there... actually, a few somethings. Pigeons? Cats? Squirrels? Really big rats? I'm...

Okay, I thought it was cold here, but apparently, you keep sending *your* air down our way. Please, we have plenty of air, feel free to keep the cold to yourself.

I just watched The Apartment with Jack Lemmon, Shirley MacLaine and Fred MacMurray. A nifty little comedy from 1960, I thoroughly enjoyed the dialogue and delivery of the lines.
The workplace depicted in the movie struck me as surreal. In one scene, it's a work Christmas party in this giant insurance corporation in NYC. Everyone's loaded. A switchboard operator is doing a moderately bawdy dance...

Long time no talk to. I've been on SG less and less since I started my new job last summer. How have you been lately?
I did a bunch of odious chores around my apartment today. I have a mild feeling of accomplishment now as I prepare to go grocery shopping.
Last night's social foray was an unqualified success. I bought the Arkham Horror game, which is essentially Call of Cthulhu in a board game. surlyclown plays it and his friends always seem to have fun with it, so I...
