I spent all day yesterday playing my rolemaster pen and paper game AND Axis and Allies. I played the USA, and I got my ass whooped by the Japanese. Damned japanese naval power... and air power... and just general whoopassedness. *sigh* Apparently I need to work on my strategy game skills.

You may remember me mentioning my weekly rolemaster game before. I thought you might find this interesting from the game master's latest message on our game website:

Sometimes a file flickers by, three or five years old, and I think "Oh yeah, that plotline is still going on." Then I have to check into Planned Events to see what's coming up, what's been modified by PC actions (if at all).

This reminded me to delete out a line of Planned Events for the NPCs now being played by the Wed Nighters (that database takes such a beating!). I think your DI was cooler than their next step - and
actions in town are similar, but already not the same, as I had anticipated for them. A series of Planned Events are about to be changed by the Sunday group, but I'm waiting a bit more to see exactly how things work out. Potentially way more twists than the present group realizes... better say no more.

Anyway, as Mael dies a longer death than many (NPCs in the campaign) had anticipated - its really interesting to me where the campaign is headed at this stage and what's been triggered in the last 2 days in Kordar City unbeknownst to both groups, but by both groups.

Looking forward to this next stage - some parts of it are so different than what I had plotted out in 1997. More accurately, the flavour of parts of it are different - the mindset of many NPCs. Plus, I have "important" NPCs that were never planned (like Jay), other key NPCs that weren't expected to be dead (you can guess), and a few that were supposed to be dead (not as obvious as you'd think - heck, one plot change was more like a line of dominoes). Pretty cool the impact of the players...

The guy is a genius. He's creative and analytical. I constantly boggle at the sheer detail and complexity of his campaign. Every week my friends and I get together and we enter another world. It makes me realize that ideas have their own life.
