there's aggression in the air this morning
got your ballerina tights around my head
in a samurai pose on the bed
vanessa from queens
and the water dripping from the faucet
is like mardi gras on the 12th of june
why don't you let me let me let me love you
vanessa from queens
-Vanessa from Queens by Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks
The music of Stephen Malkmus, asymmetric odd songshapes and lyrics like a tiny part of the world reflected and distorted in a raindrop, perfectly reflects my mood these days. Thank you again louys.
My mother has apparently got a partially collapsed lung and needs another operation. She goes back into the hospital on December 14th. This has been quite an interesting year for her physically: multiple nosebleeds requiring emergency treatment, a broken ankle, heart attacks and open heart surgery, and now this. Here's hoping 2005 is much better for her.
Personally, I'm finding it very difficult to concentrate lately. My new apartment is literally a big circle: everything connects in a big loop. This makes it very difficult for me to get out of my apartment in the morning. I go around and round in a big loop, looking for stuff I've forgotten, or forgetting what it is I've forgotten.
My bills have piled up. I have clutter about me (I never have clutter
). I have about 95 aborted plans and hobbies in evidence. At work I go to ask a question or report information, and there's a moment where I look blankly at my colleagues and try to remember what I wanted to say, and where to start.
On Friday night, I was over at friends'. They were sitting around a dining room table, I go to turn off the hall light. I turn off the light over the dining room table. It's semidark, and I swear it took me almost 30 seconds to realize what I'd done. My friends were looking at me.
I think I'm starting to consider medicating for my ADD. I'm just scared because I've had an issue with abusing stimulants in the past. Anyone got any experiences about medicating ADD they can share?
And as a complete non-sequitur, you should go see The Motorcycle Diaries.
oh, I got my hair cut and streaked orange and purple. I kinda don't like it.

Sorry to hear yer mum is having more health troubles
I can't offer any knowledge on medication. I've always tried to avoid it, but it's worked wonders for some of my friends.
