I've been feeling adrift of late. My mother's health crisis provided me with momentary distraction. The fact of the matter is, I'm pretty dissatisfied with my life.

Tomorrow I have a meeting at work with management to discuss my attendance. I wonder if I'll get detention. My job is such a damn dreary hamsterwheel. I'm creative and smart. Doing what I do, which uses neither brains nor instincts, is killing me. My lack of interest is showing up in my performance.

This is my realization. I don't want to dwell on it. I just need a kick in the ass to get my shit together and either settle and accept, or do something more fulfilling. Sometimes I think I'm TRYING to get myself fired so I won't have a choice.

Anyhow, whinge over. I know some of you out there are following your dreams. My friend surlyclown, for example, is working his ass off being a writer. Any of you more motivated types got any hints on how to kick oneself outta zombiemode?
