I plowed through some bureacracy this morning, then emailed my lawyer. As I was reading the New York Times afterwards, something caught my eye which made me smile.

I read a review of the movie Factotum about the book of the same name by American poet Charles Bukowski. The movie looks good by the way. It's got two of my favourite actors, Lili Taylor and Matt Dillon.

Anyhow, the review includes a quote from the book where Charles Bukowski describes the type of jobs many of us have: "How in the hell could a man enjoy being awakened at 6:30 a.m. by an alarm clock, leap out of bed, dress, force-feed" _ there is, naturally, a scatological dimension to this list _ "brush teeth and hair, and fight traffic to get to a place where essentially you made lots of money for somebody else and were asked to be grateful for the opportunity to do so?" I read a little further on and found out that Charles Bukowski is a brother of sorts: he too worked for the postal service for years. I didn't know that, but it certainly made me feel better about going into work this morning.

Tonight after work, I'm off to Mom's to clear boxes. It's another glamorous weekend for me. robot

Factotum does look good - it's waiting on my Netflix queue...

nice - for seeing Mojo Nixon!

boo - for not downloading that album! wink

sounds like you couldn't have played it anyway, though. i'll see what i can do for you - this time, make sure you get it within a week, cuz the download becomes inactive after 7 days...

I haven't been online much, but I've been meaning to get on here and thank you for the card. I can't wait untill your back in town. We will throw a party for you, unless you prefer a little shindig.

Thanks. biggrin
