Today was a sunny spring day, so I went for a long walk and thought about surlyclown and his family. My specified goal was to drop off my rent cheque but the mail slot isn't accessible on the weekends apparently. I stopped at an oldfashioned candy store and bought a handful of chocolate covered almonds and chocolate espresso beans instead, cuz paying bills and eating candy are very similar.
I tried to say 'hello' to most people I met, and surprisingly some of them pre-empted me with their own hellos. That made me happy.
I picked up some spices and veggies for the giganto chicken curry I plan to cook early this week. Then I went to my favourite video store and browsed the classic movies section. There was this biker looking dude there browsing as well. Apparently he has a giant collection of classic movies at home, and was looking to purchase some used dvds to add to his collection. He was very sweet and recommended a few movies. He even knew his way around Audrey Hepburn romantic comedies, which just goes to prove the old book and cover adage.
I've noticed I don't carry the same attitude about puddles as I used to when I was younger. I think I mentioned this before, but every spring my sister and I would go with our parents to find the highest pair of new rubber wellies we could so that presumably we could splash through the deepest puddles. On this walk, I approached puddles with great timidity, slowly entering the puddles, making sure not to splash, and trying to gauge the depth (nervously I might add) as I went. Somewhere that little girl from my past was crying foul.
My guinea pigs are making restless noises behind me. I think I'll get them some romaine, set up a movie, pour myself a cup of hazelnut coffee and nestle on the couch.

Oh thank you for that compliment...esp seeing as my hair is fuschia, I just try to stay on top of being UBERCLASSY. I love how the word ass is in that, tasty.
