It's been a crazy few days.

Yesterday morning we got a long distance call from surlyclown's mom: his dad who has been ill for awhile is in intensive care. Sad news, indeed. His dad's attitude is great though, so I think that will go a long ways to helping him feel better. Please send your good thoughts his parents' way. I'm sure his mom could use a little support right now as well.

In happier news, my dear surlyclown popped the question. We weren't going to go to disneyland after we got the phonecall, but his parents insisted we go and have fun. We were on Space Mountain, and Surly took my hand and shouted something initially unintelligible in my ear. I looked at him (resisting the gforces) and he repeated: "Will you marry me?" I said: "Of course I will! He put a ring on my finger. He kissed me and whispered: "It's going to be an interesting ride." I spent the rest of the ride all topsy-turvy: happy but worried the ring (which is slightly big) was going to fly off into the darkness.

So Surly's going to be my husband.
