I did a bunch of odious chores around my apartment today. I have a mild feeling of accomplishment now as I prepare to go grocery shopping.
Last night's social foray was an unqualified success. I bought the Arkham Horror game, which is essentially Call of Cthulhu in a board game. surlyclown plays it and his friends always seem to have fun with it, so I figured I'd try it out.
Even though my friends are pretty hardcore gamers, it took us a bit to suss out the rules (a process which hasn't entirely been completed I might add), but once we had the gist of it a very good time was had by all. I think we're going to play another night of it soon. There was even talk about resurrecting (no pun intended) a Call of Cthulhu campaign.
It turns out a night spent out with others is a good night after all.
