On Friday I got my mom to go to the doctor I went to two weeks ago. He changed her bp meds and now she's feeling a gazillion percent better, even after only two days. She's got a followup appointment this week, so it looks as if she might actually get the medical assistance she needs. Needless to say she's also much nicer to be around. I feel relieved to have her not talking about "if I'm around in the spring."

The guinea pigs seem to be progressing okay. I bought them some chewy sticks and a new water bottle yesterday. I made the mistake of going to a giant shopping mall AND going to walmart (I feel dirty). I needed to find somewhere that sold cheap bath towels so I could buy a ton to use in place of the woodchips I used to put in the pigs' cage. I figured since they are senior pigs now they should have life a little cushier. Honestly I almost lost it in the crowds in the department store, one too many elbow jabs and I was on the verge of clotheslining someone. Speaking of which, I didn't realize there were so many wrestling moves: wrestling moves

I'm getting old, and on surlyclown's sister's recommendation, I bought a sonic care toothbrush to deal with my receding gumline. Apparently it does everything but cook me dinner.. It vibrates nicely too. When I mentioned this to surly, he told me not to get any ideas about alternate uses as I had tons of toys. Yeah, I guess it wouldn't be hygienic. robot

I think you all know that I live in a building from the '20s, well I discovered something interesting in the bathroom today. I noticed the old locking mechanism has a lock which works. Well, that is it WOULD work if someone hadn't changed the receiving part of the mortise lock. The bolt couldn't go into the door frame because the original mortise/slot assembly had been replaced by a narrower one which couldn't receive the bolt. The replacement looked old.

I thought about it for a bit, and wondered why exactly a lock would have been broken like that. The only thing I can assume is that someone locked themselves in and the frame part had to be busted, which makes me wonder: who, and why? Did something awful happen in my bathroom? It's funny how many little stories exist all around us that we are completely unaware of.

I've been tagged by surlyclown on the 20 obscure questions about me thingie. This journal is far too long now though, so I'll ponder on it and put it in next time.

EDIT: DAMN. I just read bits of that wrestling article, and now I realize just how much of an American theatrical artform it is. Interesting stuff.

I havent played WoW in like a month, I think I finally broke free...but the tug is still there.

Hardest Things to Do In This Existance:
-start flossing
-stop smoking
-give up WoW.

Sonicare's are the best! I've had one for about two years now. Dentists can fix the gum-line though. They do some freaking test and then do that magical dentist shit and make six hundred dollars poof from your bank account and your choppers and damn tops!
