Damn, this storm is beautiful. Normally I don't say this. In fact, normally I scoff at people who think that storms are beautiful, because 90% of them have no concept of the deadly potential they carry (and I'm the type of asshole who's arrogant enough to draw a line between those who have nearly frozen to death and those who haven't). Still, A) this rain is so sorely needed right now, B) I've been safe all night, some of it sitting on a back porch drinking with friends and watching the hour-long electrical buildup, and C) holy fucking shit, now that the rain is actually pouring, this is some of the most intense lightning I've seen in years. It's regularly and literally lighting up the sky as if it were midday. If I were any more imaginative, the thunderclaps would make me shit my pants.

Damn.

Messed up sleep schedule, early on whacked my finger with a hammer rendering it useless for the rest of the night (and quite painful to bump into things with), then tore apart about half of the under-dash wiring in a bus only to find out that the root of the (self inflicted) concern was but a blown fuse in the oh-so easy to access fuse panel under the hood. Then i had to re-wrap all the wires I tore apart & re-assemble the steering column, realized i had to replace another piece above the column and thus remove it again. etc, etc, etc...

All said & done, a job that should've taken no more than two hours took almost nine. blackeyed

Today went much better, aside from skinning yet another knuckle. It seems at the current rate, I'll have almost no flesh remaining on my hands within a month.
