Interesting night last night. I think the best way to describe it would be from bad to good, which just so happens to be chronological order.
Went to the TV on the Radio/The Faint show. I ended up having to wait in line for almost an hour. Luckily the guy in front of me was on the guestlist and had an extra ticket. Dont you love going to shows for free. But by the time i finally i got into the show, TVOTR was almost done playing
. I mean that who i wanted to see. so that gets two more .
The Faint come on and put on a great show. It was definately a time warp to the 80's. Id say something straight out of "Less than Zero". Towards the end of there set, they covered Talking Heads: Psycho Killer; which i must say is one of my favorite songs of all time. Figuring that there was no way The Faint could top that, i left.
then i walk out into the lobby to see David Andrew Sitek just hanging out!!! (In case my name dropping is too obscure, he is one of TVOTR) I ended up talking to him for like 10-15 minutes. We talked about the amazing show last year in Boulder, The Faint, Beep Beep, and the Shortlist awards . I must say he did drop some amazing inside gossip about the Shortlist awards (that is if you want TVOTR to win). Overall, i think meeting Sitek was worth missing some of the set.
But wait, it gets even better. After the show, i saw smashedpumpkin33.
and then (not really following the whole bad to good trend but instead the chronological order one) sleep.
